The Craig County School Board approved two staffing appointments during its June meeting, naming a new principal for Craig County High School and creating additional behavioral support resources for students across the division.
The board approved the appointment of Dave Dunstan as principal of Craig County High School. According to Craig County Public Schools, Dunstan brings a commitment to student success, positive school culture and instructional excellence.
The board also approved Susan Stimeling as the division’s new intervention specialist. The position is primarily funded through grant support and will focus on Tier 1 behavioral supports and interventions at the middle school level. Additional support will be provided to students and staff at the high school and elementary school as needed.
In her new role, Stimeling will work with students and staff to strengthen positive behaviors, improve school climate and support student success throughout the division.
Craig County Public Schools encouraged the community to join in congratulating Dunstan and Stimeling as they assume their new positions serving the division’s students, staff and families.
Both appointments will take effect July 1.
