WAITEVILLE, W.Va. — The Waiteville Community Center will host a cooking event on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Don Shaw, who worked as a caterer and chef in Northern Virginia for 37 years, will again lead the demonstration. This year’s theme is “Trout Dinner — Farm to Table.”
The menu includes smoked trout dip with cucumber, trout with ricotta cheese, Thai basil and fennel baked in a foil packet, sweet and sour cabbage with bacon and caraway seeds, rosemary roasted potatoes and skillet apple cobbler with maple whipped cream. Recipes will be provided, and participants will be able to enjoy the dishes after the demonstration.
The cost is $25 per person, with space limited to 40 participants. RSVP and prepayment are required by Oct. 1.
