Craig County Public Schools has named Junior Jones as its August Employee of the Month.

The Employee of the Month program recognizes staff members who demonstrate dedication, professionalism and a positive impact on the school community. The initiative aims to foster appreciation, motivate excellence and highlight the role employees play in the division’s success.

Nominations are open to all staff members, who may submit names of colleagues whose performance reflects the division’s core values of excellence, accountability, collaboration and integrity.

Jones was honored for consistently going above and beyond to ensure schools are safe, well-maintained and welcoming. His responsibilities include cleaning facilities, mowing grass during the summer, and stepping in wherever needed.

“Junior’s hard work, reliability and positive attitude make a tremendous difference every day,” the division said in a statement. “He wears many hats and never complains about the variety of tasks required, always willing to take ownership of whatever needs to be done.”

Craig County Public Schools expressed gratitude for Jones’ commitment, saying he is a vital part of the Rocket family.
