The Craig County Board of Supervisors has approved its regular meeting schedule for 2026.
During its Jan. 8 meeting, the board adopted a resolution establishing that regular meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings will take place in the Circuit Court courtroom at the Craig County Courthouse in New Castle.
The schedule for 2026 includes: Feb. 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3. The January 2027 meeting is scheduled for Jan. 7.
The resolution also outlines procedures for schedule adjustments. If a regular meeting date falls on a legal holiday, the meeting will automatically move to the following Thursday.
If hazardous weather or other conditions make it unsafe for board members to attend, the chairman — or the vice chairman if the chairman is unavailable — may declare the meeting postponed to the following Thursday. Board members and local media will be notified as soon as possible in such cases, and previously advertised hearings and matters will be conducted at the rescheduled meeting without additional advertisement.
The resolution also states that meetings may be adjourned from day to day or to another time or location, if needed, until the board completes the business before it.
The resolution was adopted on a motion by board member Zach Labiosa and passed unanimously in a 5-0 vote.
