Preparations are underway for the annual Craig County Fall Festival, sponsored by the Craig County Historical Society, on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The festival officially begins at 9 a.m., but attendees can start the day with a country breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Old Brick Hotel. The $12 breakfast will include tenderloin, eggs, sausage gravy and coffee.
Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Old Brick Hotel dining room. The $10 meal will include pinto beans, cornbread, a brownie and a drink.
Tenderloin biscuits, fried pies and drinks also will be available for purchase on the porch of the Old Brick Hotel.
Festivities will begin with an invocation led by Adam Sowder, followed by the National Anthem performed by his wife, Sandra Sowder.
A variety of vendors will be set up along Main and Court streets, and numerous raffles will be held throughout the festival. The Historical Society will sell raffle tickets for a muzzleloader, quilt and afghan. Tickets will be available at various locations, including the General Store Museum.
Entertainment will include County Connection, Scaggs & Co., Ripe 4 Pickin’, Highway 42 and others.
The Genealogy Library, General Store Museum, Old Brick Hotel and cabins will be open for guests to explore throughout the festival.
One of the annual highlights is the car show, sponsored by South Main Automotive. Participants should report to the gazebo behind Town Hall beginning at 8 a.m. The $20 entry fee includes a plaque and bags from local merchants and groups. Drawings will be held throughout the day for those entered in the show.
The Craig County Historical Society thanked the community for its continued support of the Fall Festival and invited residents and visitors to attend.
