The Craig County Planning Commission on September 15th, 2026 at 6
pm, or soon thereafter at the Craig County Courthouse, 182 Main Street,
in New Castle, Virginia, to consider the application of Mr. Paul
Hershberger, who is asking for a “Conditional Use” permit to operate a
building truss shop. The permit would allow Mr. Hershberger to conduct
commercial business making handmade building trusses and to include
outside storage. §58-258, (8) of the Craig County Code of Ordinances.
This parcel is zoned A-1, Agriculture, Limited District and is located on
Whisper Ridge Lane and Cumberland Gap Road (route 42), New Castle,
VA 24127, Tax map #94-A-37. The property is 35.97 acres and is
located in the Simmonsville District on the right side of State Route 42.
