The Craig County Board of Supervisors approved appointments to the county’s Economic Development Authority and Tourism Commission during its June 4 meeting.
The board unanimously reappointed Gerry Groseclose, Susan Edwards and Jonathon Lee to four-year terms on the Craig County Economic Development Authority. Their new terms began June 22 and will expire June 21, 2030.
The authority was created by the Board of Supervisors in 1994 to promote economic development within the county. The board thanked Groseclose, Edwards and Lee for their continued service.
The resolution was approved on a motion by Potts Mountain District Supervisor Carl Bailey, seconded by Craig City District Supervisor Jordan Labiosa. The vote was 5-0, with Chair Jesse Spence, Craig Creek District Supervisor Raymond Christian, Bailey, Simmonsville District Supervisor Brian Lipes and Labiosa all voting in favor.
The board also unanimously appointed Kevin Gober to the Craig County Tourism Commission to fill the unexpired term of Nicole Zimmerman, who resigned April 9.
Gober’s appointment began June 7 and will continue through Dec. 31, 2030. The appointment was recommended by the Tourism Commission.
The resolution was approved on a motion by Bailey, seconded by Lipes. Spence, Christian, Bailey, Lipes and Labiosa all voted in favor.
