The Craig County Board of Supervisors approved a 50-year ground lease with ADIOC of Virginia RSA #3 Inc. during its June 4 meeting, allowing the company to continue operating a wireless communications site on county-owned property.
The lease covers property owned by Craig County at 23739 Cumberland Gap Road in New Castle. ADIOC of Virginia RSA #3 Inc., formerly known as USCOC of Virginia RSA #3 Inc., currently leases the site under an agreement that expires July 31, 2028.
Under Resolution R26-41, the county agreed to a new ground lease that will extend from 2026 through 2076. The agreement includes the leasehold parcel, a 30-foot access and utility easement, a site plan and the lease value schedule covering the term of the agreement.
Board Chair Jesse Spence called for a vote on the resolution after it was presented. Carl Bailey made the motion to approve the lease, and Brian Lipes seconded it.
The resolution passed with Bailey, Lipes and Spence voting in favor. Vice Chair Jordan Labiosa abstained.
The resolution was adopted June 4.
