Craig County Public Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch to children and teens ages 18 and younger this summer through the Summer Food Service Program.
Meals will be available Monday through Thursday in the Craig County School cafeteria from June 8 through July 10. The program is open to all children regardless of enrollment status and meals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Breakfast will be available from 8:30 to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
According to the school division, children must remain on campus while eating their meals, and food may not be taken off school grounds.
The meal program will operate on the following dates:
June 8-11
June 15-18
June 22-25
June 29-July 2
July 6-9
The summer meals initiative is designed to help ensure children continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is not in session.
All meals will be provided at no charge and will be the same for all participating children. The Craig County School cafeteria, located in New Castle, will serve as the program site.
