Don’t look now but high school winter sports are scheduled to begin with Thanksgiving leftovers still in the refrigerator. Craig County has basketball games for boys and girls scheduled for next week.
The girls will open the season next Monday, December 1, with a game at Glenvar. A night later the girls will make their home debut against Giles.
The boys were scheduled to open at Giles next Tuesday but that game will be moved due the length of the successful football season. Football coach Jimmy Fisher is also the new boys’ basketball coach and the team has had little time to prepare.
“I’m going to see about moving our games on December 4 and 5 as well,” said Fisher.
