Festival-goers were treated to a variety of performances.

The Craig County Fall Festival drew approximately 2,000 attendees Saturday to Main Street and the Old Brick Hotel, offering a full day of food, music, and family activities.

Sponsored by the Craig County Historical Society, the festival featured breakfast and lunch at the Old Brick Hotel, along with coffee, apple pies and barbecue sandwiches sold to help pay off the mortgage on the General Store Museum. D.R. Looney serves as board chairman of the Historical Society, and Gerlene Sizer is president. Pastor Scott Gabrielson of Craig Valley Baptist Church acted as master of ceremonies.

Live music was provided by Francisco and Friends, Ripe 4 Picking, and Blue Connection, brought in by the Town of New Castle. Festival-goers also enjoyed a variety of vendors offering food, gifts and raffles, with prizes awarded to many participants at the day’s conclusion.

In conjunction with the festival, the Marshall Reynolds Antique Car Show was held on Middle Street. The county FFA hosted a petting zoo and face-painting activities, and The Blood Connection was on hand for those able to donate blood.

Special events included a salute to veterans, a tribute to the late Steve and Jesse Carper band, and a celebration honoring Louise Trenor Woods, the oldest member of the Historical Society, who turned 103. Woods, originally from Sinking Creek, now resides in Richmond.
