The Craig County Board of Supervisors voted Aug. 7 to amend the 2024-25 budget to account for $65,969 in additional revenue for Craig County Public Schools.
The new funds included $23,872 for special education, $9,748 from a state security equipment grant, $13,825 in Small Rural School Achievement funds and $17,216 from Secure Rural Schools (forest reserve) revenue, among other sources.
The money was allocated across instruction ($12,069), administration ($3,000), operations and maintenance ($7,900), transfers ($40,000) and technology ($3,000).
The budget amendment was approved unanimously following a public hearing.
