The Craig County girls saw their basketball season come to an end last week with a loss to Bath County. The girls dropped a 42-38 decision at Bath in the Pioneer tournament.

Senior Brooklyn Cayton led the Rockets in scoring in her last game with nine points, and she also had six rebounds and three steals. Jenna Boitnotte had seven points, four assists and four boards and Morgan Underwood had six points and four rebounds. Kallie Fisher, Daileigh Donithan and Maddie Kendall had five points each, Gracie Huffman and Annalese Zimmerman both had three and Huffman also had seven rebounds.

With the loss girls finished at 1-18 in coach Erica Crabtree’s first season at the helm.

“We gave it our all and left it all on the court,” said Crabtree. “This season hasn’t gone the way we hoped it would but we had a lot of new faces and were learning from each other. I’m so proud of the girls for always giving it their all and I can’t wait to see what we do next year now that we know each other.”
