School is out. Kids are at home and parents are looking for alternative avenues to take their children for summer.
Craig County churches are already gearing up for their vacation Bible schools for kids.
“I go to them all!” one child shouted out last year. “They all are a lot of fun!”
Many have different themes with a variety of skits, games, décor and of course food to keep the kids busy and having fun while learning about the Bible.
This year some of the churches having vacation Bible school are:
- June 3, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Grace Baptist Church, “The Amazing Race,” lunch will be provided. Preschool to 7th grade.
- June 5-9, 6– 8 p.m., Lighthouse Baptist Church “Stompers & Chompers” – Building dino-size faith in God’s big plan. Ages 3-15. Food will be served each night and they are collecting pennies for the missionary with the contest between the boys and girls.
- June 12-16, 6:30-8:30 p.m., First Baptist Church of New Castle, “Heavenly Heroes.” Ages 4-12. They will have contests of the penny war and non-perishable foods between the girls and boys.
- June 26-30, 5:30–8 p.m., New Castle Christian Church “Shine Jesus’ Light.” Kindergarten – 5th grade. Light snacks provided.
- July 9-11 Level Green Christian Church “Pets unleashed, where Jesus cares ‘fur’ you!”
- July 16 – 21, 6–8:30 p.m. Craig Valley Baptist Church “Stompers & Chompers – Building dino-seed faith in God’s big plan.” Preschool to 5th grade. Dinner will be served each night.
One parent shared, “We love that our community churches coordinate their dates so that there is almost a different vacation Bible school going on each week. My kids love them all!”
Parents are encouraged to bring their children and then enjoy their time for themselves as their kids enjoy fellowship, fun and learning the Bible.
