Pioneer District tournaments are scheduled for baseball, softball and soccer next week and the Pioneer also has a district track meet on Tuesday, May 16.

The baseball tournament will open Tuesday at the sites of the higher seeds for quarterfinal games. Semifinals are Thursday, May 18, and the championship game will be Monday, May 22, at the highest remaining seed. There will also be a consolation game.

As far as the region, the regular season champion will receive the top seed from the Pioneer District and the next three teams will also advance to region play.

The softball tournament will also be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with Craig, Covington, Eastern Montgomery, Narrows and Parry McCluer fielding teams. The regular season champ will get a first round bye Tuesday before advancing to Thursday’s semifinal round. Again the top four teams will advance to region play, so only one team won’t be included.

The soccer tournament will also begin on Tuesday of next week with Craig, Bath County, Covington, East Mont and Narrows participating. Craig has a co-ed team with both boys and girls that will compete in the boys’ tournament.

The regular season champ will advance to region play and the other three teams will be chosen in next week’s tournament, with the championship and consolation game to be held on May 22nd at the highest remaining seed.

Craig also has a few members on the school track team, and the Pioneer meet is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, at Giles High School. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
