Mary Ruth Mayo Tripp, 86 of New Castle, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 8. She was born on June 8, 1933, to the late Joseph Thomas and Freenie Bell Wright Mayo. Mary Ruth was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She loved to sing, enjoyed her flower garden and could watch the birds for hours. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandbabies and loving them well.

She was preceded in death by husband William Everett Tripp; one grandson Frank H. Eakin, Jr.; three brothers, Ralph Mayo, Clyde Mayo, Gordon Mayo and two infant siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Karen Tripp Eakin (Frank) and Angela Tripp Elmore (Clyde); three grandchildren, Robert G. Eakin, Morgan Elmore Mabes (Jesse) and William Matthew Elmore (Kyndal); four-great-grandchildren, Robbie Eakin, Autumn Grace Mabes, Kylee Elmore, and Tripp Mabes; one sister, Laura Mae Price; three sisters-in-law, Pearl Mayo, Barbara Dudding (Roy) and Violet Tripp; one brother-in-law, Maxie Tripp (Bernie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including special great-great-nephew and niece Jackson and Zoe Breeden; and friend of 40 plus years, JoAnn Wright.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. In honor of Mary Ruth, donations may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church P.O. Box 71 New Castle, VA 24127.
