Kerwin George Blankenship, 79, of New Castle went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14. He was born on April 24, 1938, a son of the late Alderson L. and Allie Fair Blankenship. Kerwin was a former employee at Walmart in Salem, Virginia, for 11 years and drove a tractor trailer for 31 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Doodie Craft Blankenship; daughter Samantha Crews; adopted son & family Doug Williams; grandchildren Mindy Horton, Angel and Michael Crews; great-grandchildren Benjamin and Adelyn Horton; sister Beatrice Viers; brothers (Junior) Alderson L. Blankenship and Doc L. Blankenship.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at Paitsel Funeral Home. Pastor Kenny Davis and Jim Morris officiated and interment followed at Blankenship Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 17, at Paitsel Funeral Home. Arrangements were by Paitsel Funeral Home. www.paitselfh.com
