Rhonda Cromer (middle) is congratulated by Superintendent Dr. Mark Miear and Gilbert Linkous Principal Carol Slonka for being awarded MCPS support staff of the year honors.

Rhonda Cromer, administrative assistant at Gilbert Linkous Elementary School, was named MCPS Support Staff Employee of the Year. Cromer has worked with MCPS for 20 years.

Cromer was nominated for her ability to build solid relationships with the Gilbert Linkous community and staff members throughout MCPS. Her dedication to the efficient operation of GLES was specifically mentioned, as was her positive and caring attitude no matter the task.

“In a building with no assistant principal, Rhonda performs many duties that might not be required of many administrative assistants, and she does so with a smile,” said nominator Kim Rygas. “Rhonda makes time for everyone.”

“Rhonda represents the heart and soul of the Gilbert Linkous community,” said Carol Slonka, Gilbert Linkous principal. “She is always willing to go to the extra mile to provide support for anyone who needs it.”

The Support Staff Employee of the Year is selected at the end of one school year and serves as the Support Staff Employee of the Year for the following school year, to mirror the process for the Teacher of the Year. Rhonda Cromer is the Support Staff Employee of the Year for 2017-18.
