Haley Patterson-Highberger was recently named to head the Craig County High School athletic department and she’s now on the job with the fall season fast approaching.
“I’m really excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to see how this year goes,” said Patterson-Highberger, who also serves as an assistant principal at the high school.
Haley is a graduate of Salem High School. She did her undergraduate work at Ferrum College and received her master’s degree from Averett University.
Patterson-Highberger had been involved in public education for 11 years. She spent five years in Henry County and six in Roanoke City. Sports-wise, she served as an assistant softball coach for a parks and recreation 10U team. She’s anxious to become a member of the Craig County community.
“Craig County is a great place, and I’m glad I get to be a part of it,” she said.
