New Castle Garden Club met for its April meeting where they began preparations for their annual Plant Auction, which will be Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. Over 20 people were present to plant annuals such as marigold, salvia and sweet potato vine in a variety of donated containers.
The plantings will be carefully tended over the next month and are expected to be in full bloom and for sale at the auction, which again this year will be held in the fellowship hall of New Castle Christian Church. Hostess Lee Greiser provided snacks and drinks for the meeting and President Jason Sarine arranged for potting soil and plants.
