The Craig County Board of Supervisors approved several reappointments during its March 5 meeting, renewing terms for members serving on the county’s tourism, social services and regional boards.

By unanimous vote, the board approved Resolution R26-13, reappointing Tina Crawford to the Craig County Tourism Commission. Crawford had been serving the remainder of Ty Walker’s unexpired term from Nov. 28, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2025, and was nominated by the commission to continue serving another four-year term through Dec. 31, 2028.

The motion was made by Jordan Labiosa, Craig City District, and seconded by Carl Bailey, Potts Mountain District. Labiosa, Bailey, Brian Lipes, Simmonsville District, and Chairman Jesse Spence, New Castle District, all voted in favor.

Supervisors also approved Resolution R26-14, reappointing Angela Huffman to the Craig County Social Services Board as the Simmonsville District representative. Huffman will serve a second four-year term beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2029.

Brian Lipes, Simmonsville District, made the motion, seconded by Bailey. Labiosa abstained, while Lipes, Bailey and Spence voted yes.

In another social services appointment, the board approved Resolution R26-15 to reappoint Jeanette McClanahan as the New Castle District representative. Her second four-year term began July 1, 2024, and runs through June 30, 2028.

Bailey made the motion, seconded by Lipes. Labiosa again abstained, while Lipes, Bailey and Spence supported the resolution.

The board also approved Resolution R26-16 appointing Matt Wade, the new Craig County director of social services, as the county’s representative to the TAP Board of Directors. Wade will complete the remainder of Patricia Franklin’s three-year term after her resignation as director. His term began March 5 and runs through May 1, 2027.

Keith Dunbar, vice chair and Craig Creek District representative, was not listed in the recorded votes for the resolutions provided from the March meeting minutes.

The appointments were adopted during the board’s regular March meeting.
