Virginia High School League spring sports officially begin on Monday of next week and Craig County baseball and softball teams will be in action on opening day.
The Craig softball team will be at Glenvar to open the season on Monday. The girls will have a scrimmage at Floyd this Saturday to prepare with games scheduled for 2 and 4 pm.
The Craig County baseball team will open on the road at Staunton River next Monday. The Rockets were scheduled to scrimmage William Fleming High in Roanoke on Tuesday of this week.
Both the baseball and softball teams will play at Bland for their second regular season games on Thursday, March 20, before taking off for spring break. The first home baseball game is March 31 against Staunton River and the first home softball game is the same day against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy.
The first track meet is April 9 at Lord Botetourt.
