The 12th City of Salem Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on August 19 at the Salem Municipal Golf Course on Academy Street in Salem. This year’s event will benefit the “Life Ring Foundation” in honor of Chase O’Brien, a seven year old Salem boy who had brain surgery to remove a tumor in 2021.
The tournament will tee-off at 8:30 am and is an 18-hole Captain’s Choice open to men and women of all ages. Players can enter as a four-person team or a single entry, and cost is $40 for a single player or $160 for a team. Deadline to sign up is Saturday, April 12.
Also, businesses, groups or organizations can buy a sign on the course for $100. The sign will display the company name or logo and will be visible to all golfers and guests.
There will be items raffled off at the event and donations are needed. In the past jewelry, dining certificates, event tickets and sports memorabilia have been among the donations but all items will be accepted. Each donation will be recognized on a “thank you” sign at the tournament.
