Losing one’s home to a fire can be devastating. Local citizen Bucky Hypes and his family lost their home recently.
However, the Roanoke Valley 4-Wheelers Association is hosting a benefit Mud Bog to raise funds to help the family.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 24 in Elliston, at 3870 Bradshaw Road at the Roanoke Valley 4×4 Club Summer Shakedown.
The gates will open at 8 a.m. and the “mud will start flying at noon!”
Host Nikki Carr shared, “This is a benefit mud bog and proceeds will be donated to Bucky Hypes and his family. They lost their home and all of their belongings in a house fire. Let’s show them our support and make it a big one!”
Class fees are as follows:
- Street – $25
- 4×6 cylinder – $25
- Mod Street – $40
- Hot Street- $50
- Open – $50
There will be 100% payback to drivers.
Admission for the event is $10 per person. All children 10 years old and under are free.
The general rules and additional information can be found on the website.
They will have food trucks set up at the event, including Empanada Nirvana and Lazy Days BBQ.
The 4×4 Club is a nonprofit and has hosted benefits in the past. Some of the charities they have donated to have been the Shawsville Rescue Squad, Elliston Fire Department and the Forever Home Animal Rescue.
“One that I am most proud of was a benefit for the veterans at the V.A. Hospital in Salem,” member Lorrie Scott added. “We also donated proceeds to the Devin Butterworth Scholarship. He was a young man who lost his life saving someone from drowning.”
More information can be found on the website at Roanoke Valley 4×4 Club Summer Shakedown at Roanoke Valley 4-Wheelers Association.
They encourage everyone to join in on having a fun family day, while helping to support a local citizens family.
