The Craig County track team competed in the 53rd annual Cosmopolitan Club Track Meet at William Fleming High School last weekend. The Cave Spring boys and Christiansburg girls were winners among over 20 schools who sent athletes to the meet.
The Craig County girls finished 14th as a team, paced by Autumn Huffman’s third place finish in the Senior Division Discus. She toss the disc 110’ 2”.
Briana Charlton took a 10th place overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.32. Alexis Andrews had a personal best in the 1,600 meters at 6:41.94.
For the boys, Ben Deplazes qualified for the regiona meet in both hurdle races. He ran a time of 18.87 in the 110 highs and 46.75 in the 300 meter low hurdles.
The Rockets will run at Auburn for their final regular season meet this week as they prepare for the Pioneer District meet.
