Linda Fisher, born June 25, 1945, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a gentle spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Fisher Sr., and her son, Ralph Fisher Jr. (Sheila); special grandparents John Burton and Lizzie Snow Lucas Saunders; brother-in-law, Randolph Fisher.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ricky Fisher and his wife, Sandy; granddaughters, Morgan Durham (Luke) and Maggie Fisher (Layton); and her precious great-grandson, Lane. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Varga and Anna Piquette, as well as her special sister-in-law, Teresa Rasnake; sister-in-law, Reta Judkins; brothers-in-law, Sparkie Fisher, Clayton Fisher and Michael Fisher; dear friend, Shirley Killen; special grandson, Danny Savage; special friend, Sue Snider.
Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart, and the love she had for her one-year-old great-grandson, Lane, was especially precious. The time she spent with them brought her immeasurable happiness, and the love she gave them will continue to live on through every generation.
Linda was a talented seamstress and proudly worked at Virginia Tech before retiring. She was known for her kindness, gentle nature, and the love she so freely gave to others.
She found joy in the simple things in life. Linda loved watching birds and always had her flags proudly displayed for each season. She especially looked forward to sitting on the porch, enjoying the peaceful moments and the beauty around her.
She also became well known for her homemade biscuits. She could make them perfectly every time but somehow could never tell anyone an exact measurement or recipe to replicate them. Her biscuits, like Linda herself, were simply one of a kind.Linda had a special love for cardinals. To her family, they will forever be a beautiful reminder of her presence and her enduring love.
A graveside to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Level Green Christian Church Cemetery in Newport, Va., with Pastor Gary Poff officiating.
