Timothy W. Leftwich went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 71. Tim was born on July 17, 1954, in Roanoke, VA. He grew up playing drums and riding motorcycles. Tim was well known as DJ Mr. Breeze. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) after having over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Roanoke Valley Harley Owners Group chapter #5326.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Leftwich; his brother, J.W. Leftwich, Jr.; and godson, Jesse Carper. Left to cherish his memory, include his wife, Clara Leftwich; his sister, Priscilla Harris; special nephew, Shay Ross (Deanna); along with numerous nieces and nephews. He’s also survived by his precious dogs, Sadie, Dolly, and adopted neighbor dog, Rover.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Paitsel Funeral Home in New Castle, with Pastor James Looney officiating. Interment will follow at Ross Cemetery in Newport. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.
