The Craig County softball team will be looking to break into the win column this week with two Pioneer District games. The Rockets were scheduled to play at Bath County on Tuesday and on Thursday they head to Highland County.
The Rockets come into the week at 0-5 after dropping two district games last week, both at home. Craig fell to Eastern Montgomery, 20-4, and Parry McCluer, 26-17.
“Defensive errors cost us in both games, especially on Thursday where our significant improvement at the plate led to us having more earned runs than Parry McCluer,” said Craig coach Elaina WolfeCarper. “The goal at this point is to bring the same level of focus and execution from practice into game situations. I see how much this group is capable of at practice. We’ve got to figure out how to carry that into our games.”
Next week the Rockets have a non-district game at Northside on Monday, beginning at 5 pm. Then they’re off to Narrows on April 23rd for a district game.
