To the Editor,
Redistricting decides who speaks for you. It decides whether your community has a real voice or gets drowned out by someone else’s priorities.
Out here in rural Virginia, we know our needs are different. We’re not the DC suburbs. We don’t live in that world, and we shouldn’t be represented like we do. Our focus is on keeping our communities strong, supporting our schools, maintaining our roads, and protecting our way of life.
When maps are drawn that tie rural communities to the orbit of Northern Virginia, our voice gets smaller. Our priorities take a back seat. And decisions start being driven by people who don’t live like we do and don’t face the same challenges we face every day.
Rural Virginia deserves its own voice! This isn’t about national politics. It’s about making sure Craig County and communities like it aren’t sidelined in favor of population centers hundreds of miles away.
Early voting is open now and runs through Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 PM.
Show up and make your voice heard!
