The Craig County girls will be looking for their first softball win with two home games this week. The Rockets will host Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday and Parry McCluer on Thursday, both starting at 5 pm.
Craig comes into the week at 0-3 after dropping a game to Narrows last week, 6-2 in New Castle. It was the Pioneer District opener for the Rockets.
“We just couldn’t get our bats going,” said coach Elaina WolfeCarper. “They have faced this pitcher before and hit really well off of her.”
Kammie Fisher pitched for the Rockets and kept them in the game. She struck out eight and only allowed six hits. Rae Stamper had two hits to lead the offense.
“Kammie pitched a great game,” said WolfeCarper.
Next Monday, April 13, the girls go to Bath County for a district game.
