The Craig County Board of Supervisors voted in January to approve the purchase of property and a communications tower from the New Castle Public Service Authority to support emergency services in the county.
During the meeting, the board entered a closed session to discuss real estate matters. The motion to enter closed session was made by Vice Chair Keith Dunbar and seconded by Carl Bailey. The motion passed unanimously with Chair Jesse Spence and supervisors Jordan Labiosa, Brian Lipes, Dunbar and Bailey all voting in favor.
Following the closed session, supervisors approved a purchase agreement for a tower site owned by the New Castle Public Service Authority. The agreement includes 1.10 acres of land and an existing tower that will be used for emergency services.
Spence said the purchase price for the property and tower is $5,601.72.
Dunbar made the motion to approve the agreement, which was seconded by Lipes. The motion passed unanimously, with Labiosa, Lipes, Dunbar, Bailey and Spence all voting yes.
The Craig County Board of Supervisors includes Spence of the New Castle District, Dunbar of the Craig Creek District, Bailey of the Potts Mountain District, Lipes of the Simmonsville District and Labiosa of the Craig City District. Robert R. “Dan” Collins serves as clerk to the board.
