
The first two weeks of the basketball season have not been good to the Craig County teams. The boys played just twice with five postponements and the girls have also played two.
The Rockets were back on the court Monday to start what they hope will be a busy week. The girls improved to 2-0 with a 67-32 win over Glenvar as Emily Smith scored 33 points. The girls picked up a game with Parry McCluer last week and won 46-37.
The boys lost a heart-breaker at Staunton River Monday, 52-51 in overtime. The Rockets are now 0-2 with a two-point loss and a one point overtime loss.
Today, Wednesday, the girls have a home game scheduled with Narrows and tomorrow, December 18, the boys are scheduled to travel to Narrows.
On Friday of this week the boys have a home game with James River. The girls were originally scheduled to play in a tournament at James River but the Rockets have informed River they will not be attending.
After this week the basketball teams aren’t scheduled to play again until January 5th when the boys host Giles and the girls go there.
