Hancock, Elsie May Sloss

Elsie May Sloss Hancock, 87 of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Hancock; son, Eric; parents, Murray and Violet Sloss; sister, Betty Crawford; brothers-in-law, Barry Jones, Bobby Crawford, and Donald Via.

Left to cherish her memories are sons, Robert (Chet) Hancock (Sandy) and Clyde Hancock (Lisa); daughter, Susan Holtman; grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin (Jacob), Danielle Lee (Derek), and special grand pet, Asher; Joshua Hancock, Joe Hutchison and Steven Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Allison, Emma, Jayden, and Madalynn; siblings, Mary Via, Allie Jones, Lewis Sloss (Dixie), Charles Sloss (Candy); several nieces and nephews; special cousins, Kevin, Pat, & Todd Craft.

She was lifetime member of the Hebron United Methodist Church and played the organ for many years.

The family would like to extend many thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, Trena Boudreaux, Stacey Fisher, and Jean Bradley with Loaves & Fishes for the Friday meals. You all are a true blessing and your kindness will never be forgotten.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Huffman Memorial Park with Pastor Lee Looney officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Craig Co. Rescue Squad or the New Castle Volunteer Fire Dept.
