The Board of Supervisors on May 1st, 2025 at 6 pm, or soon thereafter will hold a joint
meeting with The Planning Commission at the Craig County Courthouse in New Castle,
Virginia, to consider the application For Lightshift Energy who is partnering with Craig
Botetourt Electric Cooperative (CBEC) for a standalone Battery Energy Storage System
(BESS) at 585 Cumberland Ave, New Castle, VA 24127, Tax map #58-A-22. This parcel is
zoned M-1, Industrial District, §58-502 Permitted Uses (5) and §58-504-(a) and (b) of the
Craig County Code of Ordinances. The property is located o Cumberland Ave just past
Wagner Street on left at you are leaving New Castle.
Public comment on the application may be submitted in writing to the County
Administration O ce no later than April 30th, 2025 by 12 pm at P.O. Box 308, New Castle,
Virginia 24127, by calling 540-864-5010, or in person at the public hearing.
