Celebrate National Library Week at the Craig County Public Library April 6–12

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

Since its first celebration in 1958, National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, has dedicated time to celebrate the many ways libraries and librarians bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

At the Craig County Public Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you’re a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Our library provides early literacy calendars, reading challenges, holiday programs and assistance, free Wi-Fi, career assistance, STEAM programs, teen take and make crafts, kid take and make crafts, most of which are FREE ensuring that everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect.

Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities Whatever draws you in our little library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, thinking of homeschooling, starting a garden, filing your taxes, or embracing retirement, the Craig County Public Library is here to support your journey.

Join us for these special National Library Week events: Monday, April 7th (10am-6pm): Right to Read Day – Celebrate your right to read with a FREE book from our book barns! ($2.00 maximum value) 10am-6pm Monday, April 7th

Tuesday, April 8th: National Library Worker’s Day – Take time to thank your local school and public librarians. Do you know a current or past librarian that is a STAR? If so, nominate them as a National Library Worker’s Day Star at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SubmitAStarforNLWD

Wednesday, April 9th  (10am-7pm): Bring a Friend to the Library Day- Do you know someone who doesn’t have a library card? Bring them to the library for a browse and/or a library card!

Thursday, April 10th: Take Action for Libraries Day – Have you ever wondered how you can help support your local library? Become an advocate for literacy, libraries, and lifelong learning! Join the Craig County Public Library Friends of the Library group and help support your library! Thursday, April 10th

Friday, April 11th : Late Night Library- Grab your PJ’s and head to the library for a special bedtime story time! Storytime starts at 9pm at the Craig County Public Library.

Saturday, April 12th: Community Outreach-Join us at the Craig County Fairgrounds for a fun-filled evening at the CCDSS Touch-a-Truck! FREE BOOKS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL AGES!

This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you’re visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, The Craig County Public Library is here for you.
