Hey, did you know the Super Bowl is this Sunday? From what I’m hearing it’s going to be the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.
For you bettors out there, this is a bonanza. You can not only bet on the game, but all kinds of other stuff two. Last I heard the Chiefs are one and a half point favorites and the over-under is 48 and a half. If I were a betting man, and sometimes I am, I’m taking the Eagles and over. And before you go rushing to the computer please understand I’m not always right.
I get constant e-mails from Jimmy Shapiro, who is president of “Stuff Media Group.” He sends me odds and such on all kinds of sports events, like who will be the next coach of (name a team), who will be the next coach to get fired, etc, etc. Got one today on the odds for Myles Garrett’s next team, and it seems the Cowboys are the favorites.
One interesting e-mail I recently received was a long list of prop bets for Sunday’s broadcast. There’s way too many to include in one column but I’ll give you a few of my favorites and who I would take. And remember, I’m not telling you what you should take, I’m telling you what I would take. And, like I said, I’m not always right.
Here we go(Dak Prescott says that).
“How many times will ‘three-peat’ be said?” Over-under is 1.5 and I’m definitely taking the over on that.
“How many times will Jason Kelce be shown?” Over-under is 2.5 and, again, I’m taking the over, especially if he’s sitting near Taylor Swift.
“In that light, who will Jason Kelce be sitting next to?” Choices, in order of most favored, are Donna Kelce, Ed Kelce, Taylor Swift, Jeffrey Lurie and Bradley Cooper. I’m going to try and win big and take Cooper.
“Will they show Tom Brady playing the Eagles in the Super Bowl?” Choices are yes and no, with yes favored, and I think yes is a lock.
“Which backup will be mentioned first, Carson Wentz or Kenny Pickett?” Got to be Wentz since he once played for the Eagles. Pickett probably won’t even be mentioned unless Hurts gets injured, heaven forbid.
“Which New Orleans landmark will be shown first, Bourbon Street, St. Louis Cathedral or Preservation Hall?” Gotta be Bourboun Street unless there’s a flood.
“Which Chiefs fan will be shown first, Taylor Swift, Paul Rudd, Henry Winkler(list of many more)?” What do YOU think? No question, the one with the reddist lips.
“Will Bradley Cooper be shown, yes/no?” OF COURSE!!!
“How many times will Roger Goodell be shown?” Over under is one and a half and I’m taking over. He’s usually shown being booed when he’s introduced and isn’t he going to hand out the trophy at the end? That sounds like a sucker bet to me.
I could go on and on but space doesn’t permit. For many, many more of these props and stuff from all around the sports world check out js@stuffmediagroup.com.
And enjoy the game.
