The Pioneer District volleyball tournament will begin next Monday and Craig’s seeding in the tournament was yet to be determined at press time. The Rockets were getting ready to play Parry McCluer in New Castle in their final regular season match and the outcome is a determining factor.

District play begins Monday with the number four seed hosting the number five seed and the third seeing hosting number six. Craig will be either four or five, so that will be determine if the Rockets are home or away.

The first and second seeds get first round byes and join the mix next Tuesday, October 29. Number one will host the four-five winner and number two entertains the three-six survivor. The championship match is a week from today, on October 30, and there is also a consolation match.

Craig comes into the week at 2-10 overall after dropping two district matches last week. The Rockets lost to Narrows and Bath County.

At Narrows the score was 26-16, 25-13 and 25-13 in favor of the host Green Wave. Layla Dooley led in kills with four and Cheyanne Bell had three, and both had three blocks. Natalie Fisher had five assists and Ashlyn Keen led the team with six digs.

Last Thursday at home the Rockets hosted Bath County and lost 25-10, 25-10 and 25-13. Dooley had two kills, three blocks and a team high 11 digs. Bell had three kills and three blocks and Makenzie Lucas served up three aces.

The Highlanders had a match with Glenvar postponed on October 7 and that will not be made up.
