Waiteville Community Center is sponsoring “Cooking Light & Cool for a Hot Summer Night” on Saturday, July 13 from 4-6 p.m. Don Shaw, who worked as a caterer and chef in the Northern Virginia area for 37 years, is leading the event again this year. He is happy to share his knowledge and love of cooking. He will demonstrate preparing curried carrot soup, ricotta stuffed chicken breast with sweet and sour peach sauce, asparagus with orange zest and balsamic glaze, orange pesto vinaigrette quinoa salad, and lemon curd whipped cream with fresh berries. Recipes will be provided. After the demonstration, participants will enjoy eating these dishes.
