Tales of life in depression-era Virginia have led to a fictional road for Jeanette Walls in her latest novel “Hang The Moon,” published in 2023 by Simon & Schuster. Walls is the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Glass Castle (book and movie), Silver Star and Half Broke Horses. She takes a deeper dive into her Virginian roots with the fictional “Hang The Moon” which she’ll talk about on Sunday.
The Craig County Public Library is holding the free community event at the Craig County High School Library on Sunday, May 5 at 2p.m. The public is invited to attend and registration is required by calling 540-864-8978. This is the second annual author series presented by the library.
Jeanette Walls lives in Virginia and knows the region well. She uses a historical perspective in her newest novel, “Hang The Moon” to tell the story of a young woman in the Depression years who returns to her hometown to reclaim her place. The story is filled with struggle and determination, something Walls has embraced over the decades.
