The 13th annual City of Salem Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 1st, at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street. This year’s tournament proceeds will go to Salem Police officer Brian Stump, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in December.
Stump has been with the Salem Police Department since December of 2000, serving the citizens of Salem in the Animal Control Division. He was appointed to the rank of Sergeant in February of 2019.
Cost of the tournament is $40 per person or $160 for a team of four. The 18 hole tournament(you go around twice) includes lunch at 11:30 am as well as prizes and refreshments. Tee times will be at 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.
Entry deadline is May 25 and the registration fee must be sent with all entry forms, which are available at the course clubhouse. Make checks payable to Salem Parks & Recreation and send your entry form to Chuck Johnston at 601 Academy Street in Salem.
Businesses and individuals can also place signs at the tee boxes for $100, and all proceeds got to Sgt. Stump. Interested persons are also urged to donate items for a raffle.
