Mountain View Church put much time into its float, Jesus – The Sweetest Name I Know.
The kids went wild over this Jeep that had the Grinch with a snow blowing machine on the back. There were no vehicles in sight behind it, so a couple of kids went out to see if it was real snow. “It’s soap!” one boy announced with a big grin, as he put his fingers in the white stuff on the road and smelled it.
It doesn’t seem like anything excites the kids more than seeing the EMS vehicles in the parade, as they know that Santa is on the last one.
The Future Derby Drivers of Craig County were on a float, with their power wheels.
Main Street looked very lonely at first, but five minutes before the parade turned the corner, families were lined up on both sides, even in the rain that seemed to be determined to add its untimely appearance.
