Upcoming public meetings in Craig County

Nov. 15

A CPMT meeting at CPMT – Department of Social Services will be at 1 p.m.

Nov. 20

The New Castle Town Council will meet from 7-8 p.m. at the New Castle Town Hall at 339 Market Street in New Castle.

Nov. 21

Rep. Morgan Griffith will hold a citizen comment period from 9-10:30 a.m. in the courthouse breakroom.

Dec. 7 

The Craig County Board of Supervisors will hold its monthly meeting at the Craig County Courthouse at 6 p.m.

Dec. 18

Community events:

Nov. 16

The Maywood Garden Club will hold its annual fundraising auction on Nov. 16, at the Simmonsville Fire Department. It will start at 6 p.m. Virginia “Bluebell” will be the auctioneer. Items will include crafts, baked goods and Christmas items. 

Nov. 18

Waiteville Community Center (WCC) will sponsor their 4th Annual Hunters Supper on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 6 pm. The eat-in or take-away meal will include chili, slaw, cornbread, dessert and a drink for $15. For information, call 304-772-3060 or email waiteville@frontier.com. 

Ongoing

Feeding southwest Virgnia will be offering food twice a month on the second and third Wednesday of the month from 3-5 p.m. and 4-5 p.m., respectively. All community members are welcome to purchase fresh produce and other canned and boxed items. EBT recipients receive 50% off their fruits and vegetables. 

Booster Club of Craig Schools meet on the third Monday of each month in the school cafeteria at 6 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend and to join to support the kids of Craig County as they need the participation of more people. 

Every Friday. Craig County Genealogy Library is open 1-4 p.m. 152 Main Street. High school annuals, family histories and genealogy resources. Contact 540-864-7023.
