When Jonathan Huffman says he’s growing pumpkins, he means it. “I have 11 fruits on display in my yard now totaling 8,202.5 lb.,” he said. The eleventh was added after the photo. “While smashing through the remnants of Shrek’s jungle patch we found a stray squash growing in a drainage ditch sitting flat on its blossom weighing 280.5 so we named it Stubbs and set it with the rest making 11. We will finish the display layout in the next few days for Halloween. Each pumpkin has a name and people are welcome to go look at them and how much they weigh; Ruth – 1,286, Ducky -1,256, Albert – 1,237, Yoshi – 848, Ty – 664, Frank – 657, Shrek – 594, LuLu – 539, Tazz – 463.5, PeeToot – 377.5, and Stubbs: 280.5. This brings season 2023 to a close. Now it’s time to clean up, collect seeds and get ready for 2024!”
