Craig County Public School students recently participated in a bell-ringing ceremony to mark the 236th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. One group of primarily fifth graders who are studying American history met in front of McCleary Elementary School and later in the day the seventh-grade civics class gathered at the flagpole at Craig County High School. In both cases, students rang a 2-inch brass bell for one minute, then read or recited the Preamble to the Constitution. New school Superintendent Dwayne Huff and other staff were able to join the occasion, which was sponsored and led by ladies from Craig Valley Chapter, NSDAR.
