The predictions this will be a rough winter, according to the Almanac and the woolly worm.
The Craig Valley Baptist Church will have its coat giveaway with sweaters, hoodies, scarves, winter hats, gloves, mittens and maybe some snow boots and socks this year.
The church had noted that for some, there just wasn’t enough money to keep up with the high costs of purchasing winter needs, especially for families with several children, or parents who had lost their jobs.
Craig Valley also noted that there were many citizens who had items in their closets they would rather give away to their community members, than donate to another town, so the church went to work on this special project.
“We have this as an annual event now,” shared Donna Francisco. “It has become very successful in providing for many people, young and old.”
The giveaways will be held this Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
People can still drop off at the church (located beside of Bibo’s Restaurant), on Monday and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until noon and also from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
They do ask that the clothes be cleaned and have no holes or stains and that the zippers be in working order.
