On Saturday, June 30, the New Castle High School Class of 1968 celebrated their 50th Class Reunion at the Red Rock Farm in Sinking Creek. The event was hosted by classmates Janet and Stanley Myers. We were grateful to have three teachers with us, Tom Trott and wife Juanita, Dallas Helms and wife Sue and Patricia Duncan and husband, Calvin.
Mr. Duncan was the class sponsor. Five of the 40 graduates have passed away: Gary Huffman, Russell Elmore, Gary Francisco, Daniel Blevins and Melvin Helms. A memorial table was set up in their honor.
A catered meal was served, and everyone enjoyed catching up with all in attendance. It was decided that hosting another reunion in five years may just happen. A special thanks goes to everyone who served on the committee and who came out.
