The Craig County O-Zone baseball team, for 12 and under boys, will be participating in the Dixie League District 7 tournament in Franklin County this weekend. The tournament begins Friday and runs through Wednesday of next week.
The tournament includes four teams, Craig, Vinton, North Roanoke, Salem and host Franklin County. The Rockets will open Friday night at 8 pm against Salem. If they win they’ll have a bye on Saturday and advance to the 4 pm game on Sunday. If they lose Friday they would have to play again Saturday at 2 pm against the loser of a Friday game between Vinton and North Roanoke.
The tournament is double elimination. All games are at Franklin County’s Wade Park.
Also, the annual Roanoke Area Youth Softball Association(RAYSA) tournaments will begin Sunday, June 24, and continue through Saturday, June 30. Tournament brackets will be released on Wednesday of this week.
