The Lake Quilters’ Guild will present its biennial quilt show, “Our Quilts, Our Passion” on Friday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show, which will present over 160 beautiful handmade pieces, will be at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, VA.

A unique raffle quilt.

There will be two beautiful handmade quilts raffled as well, and there will be door prizes given away every hour. Lunch will be served each day in the café. Admission is a $5 donation.

The Lake Quilters’ Guild has been in the community for over 25 years. They have distributed thousands of items to the community during that time. Stuffed bears and pillow pals are sent to the Bedford and Franklin County hospital emergency rooms to be given to young patients. Quilts are also given to the women’s shelters, Social Services, Bedford and Franklin Hospice and the Perinatal center. Other recipients of their work are nursing homes, CASA and the Franklin County sheriff’s department.

The group also makes wheelchair bags, “fidget quilts,” knit caps and mittens, bibs for nursing homes, pillowcases and other useful things.

Proceeds from the quilt show are used in part to help fund the charity work done by the guild.
