Wright, Sharon Lynn

Sharon Lynn Wright, 53, of New Castle lost her courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at LewisGale Medical Center.

Sharon was born on January 12, 1964, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, to Robert A. and Virginia G. Taylor. She attended Grove City College in Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor’s degree in counseling. She then went to Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and received her Master’s in psychology. She worked for Blue Ridge Mental Healthcare Center in Salem until her death. She was happily married on April 26, 1994 to Gary L. Wright, who survives.

Sharon found a love of hiking and riding motorcycles with her husband in these beautiful mountains where they called home for almost 30 years. Her shining personality made her dearly loved by so many friends. She had a huge love for animals, and was in the process of hunting for a new rescue dog.

She is survived by two children, William Wright and his wife, Kristie of Rockland PA, and a daughter, Heather Wright of Seneca PA and her children, Sharon’s four grandchildren, Alexandrea and Mackenzie Rice, and Tyler and Trinity Alex. Sharon has a brother, Robert Taylor Jr. and his wife Tina of Harrison City PA, and their children, Bethany, Nicholas and Sarah. Sharon very dearly loved her family.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, at Oakey’s North Chapel. Friends and family will be received beforehand starting at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial contributions be sent to the Rescue Mission.
