EVERY DAY EXCEPT FOR SUNDAY

The Craig County Public Library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The library is located at 303 Main St. in New Castle. For more information, call (540) 864-8978 or visit www.craiglibrary.org.

EVERY MONDAY

Weight Watchers meeting starting at 4:45 p.m. and meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Craig County High School Media Center. Everyone is welcome. Cost pending start date. For more information call 864-5191 ext. 4. Facebook/Craig County Weight Watchers.

EVERY FRIDAY

Genealogy Library is open from 1 to 4 p.m., Old Brick Hotel Court & Main Street, New Castle 589-9164.

EVERY SUNDAY

Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. 8 p.m. at New Castle Fire Hall.

SECOND MONDAY

*Paint Bank Ladies Auxiliary meeting, 7 p.m. at the Paint Bank Fire Department. 897-5346 for more information.

*Craig County Public Library Board of Trustees meeting 6 p.m. at the library.

THIRD MONDAY

Craig County Citizens for the Constitution meets at 7 p.m. at the New Castle Volunteer Fire Department.

FOURTH MONDAY

Craig County Historical Society meeting. Old Brick Hotel, New Castle. 7 p.m. 864-5866 or 520-5555

FIRST THURSDAY

Craig County Board of Supervisors meets at 6 p.m. at the Craig County Courthouse.

SECOND THURSDAY

‘Too Young To Quit’ Senior Citizens meet at noon at The New Castle Manor. It is open to all seniors 55+. They have potlucks, bingo, go on trips, special speakers and much more.

THIRD TUESDAY

Craig County Democratic Committee, New Castle Fire Department 7 p.m.

THIRD THURSDAY

The Botetourt/Craig/Roanoke Farm Service Agency County Committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Bonsack USDA Service Center. Please call one-day before the meeting date regarding possible cancellation information. The Bonsack USDA Service Center is located at 36 Executive Circle, Suite 1, Roanoke, VA 24012. All County Committee meetings are open to the public.

FOURTH THURSDAY

Craig County Department of Social Services board meeting, 6:30 p.m., 177 Court St., Second Floor, New Castle.

NOV. 6 – NOV. 10

The Craig County Middle/High School library will be holding a book fair. Proceeds will go to the library for books and materials. The hours are as follows: Monday (9 am – 4 pm), Tuesday (3 am – 6 pm), Wednesday (9 am – 4 pm), Thursday (9 am – 4 pm) and Friday (9 am – 4 pm). The book-fair will be available online at Scholastic.com/fair. All online orders will ship free to the school.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11

The New Castle United Methodist Women’s Annual Bazaar and Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in church fellowship hall at 364 Main Street. There will be homemade pieces of bread, cakes, pies, candy, jams, jellies and cookies. There will also be available crafts, holiday decorations and holiday items. Coffee and a variety of biscuits will also be sold. Come and join us. Everyone is welcome!!!

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12

Bistro Frontera Spanish Wine Dinner at 3 p.m. to benefit the Botetourt Food Pantry. Wine pairings, ratings, education and lots of FUN with each course! $60/seat Reservations: call (540) 591-9005

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18

Catawba Valley Holiday Market – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Catawba Community Center, 4965 Catawba Creek Road, Catawba. 25+ vendors. All locally grown or created, no imports. Fall produce, pork & poultry, baked goods, jams, pickles. Crafts include jewelry, pottery, scented candles, bath & beauty products, American Girl doll clothes, wood-working, primitives & folk-art, wooden toys, framed photography, note cards, sewn items, knitted & quilted clothing, primitive barn wood signs, felted ornaments, wool-filled comforters, baskets and much more. Sausage biscuits are available for breakfast. Lunch sold by Catawba Volunteer Fire Department.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2

Christmas Parade leaves the Fairgrounds at 6:00 p.m. and travels to the Courthouse. Participants need to be at fairgrounds to line up by 5:00 p.m. Everyone welcome!! 864-5010.
